In Grasso’s Garage this week, we have the ultimate comfort machine: the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe RST.
Wrapped in a Dark Ash Metallic paint, this stylish Tahoe RST delivers a really nice curb appeal, confirming why the Tahoe has been so successful in the GM fleet for years.
Powered by the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 Engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, all paired with the 10-speed ultra-smooth automatic transmission, the Tahoe is a win for consumers. However, it likely will not pass a gas station without stopping, as our week-long test averaged 16.7 miles per gallon for over 500 miles. The Tahoe has no issues getting up and going, though.
Our tester boasted an array of upgrades to the $70K base price. Equipped with Super Cruise and the Advanced Technology package, we recognized magnetic ride control with the RST Capability package. The Comfort Package included second-row captains seats and a third-row bench seat, plus memory settings for the driver, a heated steering wheel and a Bose 10-speaker CenterPoint surround sound audio system. Riding on 24-inch upgraded metallic aluminum wheels and also including a power panoramic sunroof and trailer package, upgrades for our RST tester exceeded $16K.
Standard on our Tahoe was adaptive cruise control, a 17.7-inch advanced color LCD infotainment system with Google built-in capabilities, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In 2025, 114,202 Tahoes were sold, up from 105,147 in 2024. These numbers confirm the strong demand for the upscale SUV is still trending upward.
Packed with plenty of comfort and space, the Tahoe RST delivers for consumers who need plenty of room for storage and the ability to move people comfortably. While riding big and in style, the Tahoe instantly provides that extra level of safety consumers demand.
With General Motors on top of their game in recent years, the Chevrolet Tahoe is another excellent SUV in the fleet for consumers and one that has excellent resale value, unlike its competition. For those looking for the ability to move people and things, while not compromising on safety and comfortability, I can’t say enough about the Tahoe. Great work, GM. Your consumers appreciate it.
