According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Friday, Dec. 26, at approximately 6:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 5619 Main St., Durhamville, for reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, deputies located the residence fully involved with reports of an individual still inside. After the fire was extinguished, an individual was found deceased inside the residence.
Authorities positively identified her as Beverly A. Fehr, 74. The victim was the sole resident of the property. At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, and further details may be released at a later time.
The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office provided a positive identification and next of kin were notified.
The Sheriff’s Office assisted the Verona Fire Department, the Durhamville Fire Department, the New London Fire Department, the Sylvan Beach Fire Department, the Oneida Castle Fire Department, the North Bay Fire Department, the Vienna Fire Department, the Westmoreland Fire Department, the Vernon Fire Department, the Utica Fire Department, the Wampsville Fire Department, the Canastota Fire Department, the Lincoln Fire Department, New York State Fire, Vineall Ambulance and the Oneida County District Attorneys Office while at the scene.
