Alliance Classical Players invites the public to a free, community concert on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. at the Rome Art and Community Center. “Christmas at Downton Abbey” will feature music from the beloved television show, English and classical Christmas music that was popular during the early 20th century, and familiar American carols, all set against the backdrop of a Downton holiday retrospective. Music on the program includes selections from The Nutcracker Suite, Corelli’s Concerto Grosso (Christmas Concerto), A Christmas Greeting by Edward Elgar, Delius’ Sleigh Ride, and well-known carols such as O Come All Ye Faithful, God Rest You Merry Gentlemen, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and more.
