WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. – The Madison County Board of Elections would like to remind voters there will be a General Election held on Tuesday, Nov. 4. If you wish to vote in the general election, you must be registered on or by Oct. 25.
The Madison County Board of Elections Office will offer extended hours during the two weeks prior to the General Election in compliance with NYS Election Law.
The board of elections office, located in the county office building #4 at 138 N. Court St., Wampsville, will be open for extended hours on the following days and times:
– Saturday, Oct. 25: 9 a.m.-noon.
– Tuesday, Oct. 28: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
– Thursday, Oct. 30: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
– Saturday, Nov. 1: 9 a.m.-noon.
The extended hours at the board of elections are intended to assist voters who may need to register to vote or apply for an early mail or absentee ballot. Please note the extended hours are not for early voting. Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot
Early voting for the general election will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 551 Sayles St., Oneida. Voters will vote on the same voting system used on Election Day.
Hours for early voting will be:
– Saturday, Oct. 25: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
– Sunday, Oct. 26: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
— Monday, Oct. 27: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
– Tuesday, Oct. 28: noon-8 p.m.
– Wednesday, Oct. 29: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
– Thursday, Oct. 30: noon-8 p.m.
– Friday, Oct. 31: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
– Saturday, Nov. 1: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
– Sunday, Nov. 2: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
This time is available to facilitate voters who wish to vote early. No votes will be tallied until the close of polls on election night.
Anyone who has moved since they last registered must re-register. Registration forms are available from the Madison County Board of Elections by calling (315) 366-2231 or downloaded at https://ift.tt/uNYcAXv or you can register online at https://ift.tt/ROuXtQ2. Forms are also available at post offices and town, city, and village clerks’ offices.
If a voter wishes to apply for and receive an early mail or absentee ballot by mail, they must do so on or before Saturday Oct. 25.
If you wish to vote by absentee or Early Vote by Mail, the application forms are available from the Madison County Board of Elections by calling (315) 366-2231 or can be filled out online on the NYS Board of Elections website.
You may also come into the office at 138 North Court Street, Building #4, Wampsville, fill out an absentee or Early Vote by Mail form and vote in person.
Please note that, per new changes in election law, if you have been issued an absentee or Early Vote by Mail ballot, you are no longer eligible to vote in person on the machine during Early Voting or on Election Day.
