According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a town of Westmoreland man has been arrested and charged with grand larceny.
On July 9 the sheriff’s office road patrol unit received a complaint from a victim who had hired a local contractor on June 13 to demolish a building he owned in the town of Kirkland. The contractor was paid $4,000 and the building demolition was never completed. Deputies then turned the case over to the sheriff’s office criminal investigation unit for further investigation.
On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the CIU located the contractor, John Feketa, 58. CIU officers arrested Feketa and charged him with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony.
Authorities processed Feketa at the sheriff’s office law enforcement building where he was held pending an arraignment in CAP Court. After arraignment authorities remanded Feketa to the Oneida County Correctional Facility without bail.
