On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, providers from Upstate Urology at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) performed the 150th Aquablation case at the Wynn Hospital. Aquablation is a minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgical procedure used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly referred to as an enlarged prostate. The procedure, which was performed by Hanan Goldberg, MD, MSc, uses a high-velocity waterjet to remove excess prostate tissue, guided by real-time imaging. This heat-free, less invasive technique aims to relieve urinary symptoms associated with BPH, while minimizing potential damage.
