TOWN OF PARIS, N.Y. — According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on July 21, 2025, at around 12 p.m., Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 8 and Oneida Street located in the Town of Paris.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a 16-year-old male, whose name will not be released due to his age, of Utica was operating a 2024 Taro motorcycle in an easterly direction on Oneida Street, approaching the State Route 8 intersection. At the same time, Susan Carney (62) of West Winfield was operating a 2009 Volkswagen in a southerly direction on State Route 8. The juvenile failed to yield the right of way to Carney, attempting to continue east, across State Route 8 and collided with the front of Carney’s vehicle. The juvenile was airlifted to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse for non-life-threatening injuries. Carney didn’t sustain any injuries.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Edwards Ambulance, Clayville Fire Department and Mercy Flight.
