VERONA, N.Y. — According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, deputies have arrested a Verona man after a domestic incident that occurred in the afternoon on Monday, July 7, in the town of Verona.
Road patrol deputies responded to a domestic complaint, and upon arrival, deputies spoke with two victims, one of them being a sixteen-year-old juvenile. The victims reported that there was a verbal domestic incident that escalated into a physical altercation when the suspect began striking the victims with a belt and also damaging property.
Upon completion of the investigation, deputies arrested Ricco Torres, 34, and charged him with:
– endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
– second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor.
– fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor.
– fourth-degree criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
– two counts of second-degree harassment, a violation.
Authorities transported Torres to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing and he was subsequently turned over to the Oneida County Correctional Facility pending his arraignment.
