As Truck lovers continue to recognize usage options abound, consumers continue to demand more and more of manufacturers. In recent years, Ford took a big gamble with the release of the Maverick, a small compact pickup truck serving honey-do lists across the country, while still utilizing a previously failed nameplate. In typical Ford fashion, they have capitalized on the small truck market, crippling the competition with their explosive under $20K base model.
In Grasso’s Garage this week, we unveil the highly anticipated 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo AWD. As the Maverick Lobo enters the consumer market in dealerships across the country, we notice an inflated base price exceeding $40K, but with a slew of additional upgrades that are standard, such as 19-inch black wheels sporting a new and hip design, leather ActiveX seats with blue and lime interior accents, push button start, a lowered stance with a revised front end fascia boasting a sportier exterior, and array of black painted accents. On the inside, we recognize a larger SYNC infotainment system coming in at 13.2” similar to other Ford models, while the center console transmission dial is still present. Powering our Maverick Lobo AWD is the ever-popular 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine boasting 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The regular Maverick also offers a Hybrid engine, while the Lobo does not for the 2025 model year.
The Maverick is the best example of a small pickup utilized for an array of things. Not only the honey-do list, around the house, grocery getter, but kid moving ability, work truck while adding the Lobo package gives it the sportier flare and a better appeal all while still maintaining a good price for the market with its usage and ability. In all honesty, there really isn’t anything the Maverick can’t do for its size and price.
As a 2024 Ford Maverick owner myself, I designed and ordered a XLT in Oxford White with the 2.0-Liter EcoBoost engine. Not only is it my daily driver in my array of automobiles, but its superb ability to complete tasks is second to none. In 2025 and with the addition of the Lobo edition, Ford adds just another slice of excellent options to their deep list of consumer wants making your Maverick not like others in the neighborhood.
